If you want to paste something on mousepad , then you system freezes , no way to ctrl+alt+F , no ctrl+alt+backspace , no touchpad , no keyboard ... maybe you should try to do the same ...

Hmm, well I just tried doing the same, and it seems to paste just fine,
I copied the text from your post and pasted into mousepad file, saved it as :
mousepad-test.txt
Does this happen if you open mousepad in a terminal, I mean, don't use cinnamon, but use a terminal, and then see if there is any errors in the output, I did get some:

Code: Select all

garry% mousepad

(mousepad:3025): Gtk-WARNING **: 09:04:22.776: Theme parsing error: <data>:2:29: The style property GtkButton:default-border is deprecated and shouldn't be used anymore. It will be removed in a future version

(mousepad:3025): Gtk-WARNING **: 09:04:22.776: Theme parsing error: <data>:3:37: The style property GtkButton:default-outside-border is deprecated and shouldn't be used anymore. It will be removed in a future version

(mousepad:3025): Gtk-WARNING **: 09:04:22.777: Theme parsing error: <data>:4:27: The style property GtkButton:inner-border is deprecated and shouldn't be used anymore. It will be removed in a future version

Have you checked the recent bug reports for Debian sid ? and Cinnamon , also I tried from my file manager, and WM, and it does not freeze,.. I suspect it is Cinnamon problem,

Not that Sid has ever, ever broken anything.

I thought that post might be complaining about the weather at first.

Does the magic SysReq key combo still work in Sid for frozen systems?

Yes, I think so: https://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/debi ... _sysrq_key

My buster system has it activated anyway:

Code: Select all

empty@buster:~ $ cat /proc/sys/kernel/sysrq
438
empty@buster:~ $
EDIT: set the journal to persistent with

Code: Select all

# mkdir /var/log/journal
Remove the directory to return to non-persistent logging.

Well I suppose I can, but honestly, if you are not willing or able to make some effort your self , maybe you would be better off using the current stable version of Debian,
recent bug reports for Debian sid ? and Cinnamon
In case you live some where that censors all the search results or something, below I have posted some of the many links in the results.

I do not have time to go through all the bug reports, looking for ones that apply to your specific problem, but here is some links to the lists:
