Automatic shutdown

#1 Post by Dimple »

I noticed that since I re-installed debian my computer isn't totally shutting down when you do

Code: Select all

shutdown -h now
Thats odd because with the install I hat before it went totally down.
How can I fix this?

You have to enable this option in the kernel somewhere.
I thought it depends on which kernel you use where you can find this option.
It's hip to be cool! right?

The kernel needs to be compiled with ACPI or APM support, or both.
In the 2.6 series, they can be found in "Power management options", in 2.4, they are in "General setup".
