Any program to count monthly traffic on eth0?

Hi
I just need a small tool to monitor eth0 and display the cumulative monthly upload and download.

I am capped to 20 Gb down and 10 Gb up and I want to make sure I don't go over this.

I need a tool which write its data on the hard drive so that I don't loose everything if there is a power failure or network cable unplugged. Grep'ing ifconfig eth0 isn't reliable enough.

I installed iptotal which makes me nice graphs of my network usage but it doesn't seems to keep total uploaded and total downloaded.

The best would be a tool which mail me if up or down goes to high.

Any suggestions?
