Purchasing a Laptop

#1 Post by Rogue Yun »

My laptop monitor is about to fall off at the hinge and the cost to fix it at my location is above the cost of the laptop... So...

Is there a good place to purchase a good debian compatable laptop online? Preferably without a hard drive.

There are other places to choose from, but I will mention this:
https://system76.com/
They are costlier than opting to buy a normal laptop after doing proper reading about GNU/Linux compatibility.
Debian == { > 30, 000 packages }; Debian != systemd
The worst infection of all, is a false sense of security!
It is hard to get away from CLI tools.

Thinkpads are probably the most Linux-compatible laptops on the market.
I'm sure you can buy these from Ebay or something similiar.

In Canada it's Kijiji. You can buy a lot of junk for low price. http://www.kijiji.ca/b-computer/halifax ... 0c16l80010
