rclone or duply?

#1 Post by gregfr »

(this question is not Debian-specific, but I'm seeking wisdom everywhere ;) )

I'm looking for advise about choosing a backup software. My need is to backup my workstation to a swift server.

I'm hesitating between:
  • - rclone: synchronizes, so transfers only new/modified files, no encryption, easy to set up, no archiving, easy to recover from another system

    - duply: archives, files may be uploaded several times, encryption, harder to setup, key management a little tricky
What do you people use? what do you think about these two?

TIA

greg

PS: I've solved encryption for rclone with encfs but it's not built-in
