chrome vs. libstdc++-4.8.x

#1 Post by debian »

I have an old AMD65 PhenomII X3 computer running on an old debian v7.11 and it google chrome is stuck with Version 49.0.2623.110 (64-bit). When I tried to upgrade it, the upgrade spits out an error message as shown below. The current/latest version of libstdc++6 on my computer is v4.7.x. I don't see any updates to libstdc++6-4.8.x. Does this mean I have to upgrade to the latest debian in order to get to the latest google chrome-stable version?

Code: Select all

google-chrome-stable:
  Depends: libstdc++6 (>=4.8.0) but 4.7.2-5 is to be installed
