Hi Everyone,
Long story short- I was running Debian Jessie, and it worked perfectly well. I had sudden issues with 2 pprograms and decided the easiest way to fix it may be to format and do a clean install of Debian.
So I reinstalled it. Problem here is the brightness was too high and made my eyes hurt. The brightness could not be changed by either power options or keyboard keys. So I did this to solve it https://wiki.debian.org/ATIProprietary# ... 2Jessie.22
The computer now boots to a black screen with a blinking cursor in the top left corner. It doesn't let me type anything.
How can I get this fixed, and actually adjust the brightness?
Please advise.

What desktop are you using? The Jessie release notes say that fglrx is not compatible with Jessie's default GNOME 3.
