I have a strange connection problem on my machine where connection starts to misbehave after around ~2days of uptime. I'm not able to make tcp connections, not all established connections are affected though, but I don't see any pattern..
I can still ssh to it.

I found very similar or identical problem discussed here https://unix.stackexchange.com/question ... nux-laptop and setting sysctl -w net.ipv4.tcp_timestamps=0 helps indeed. All not working connections/hosts are reachable again.
I use wired connection to my router which is connected to wan/isp by PPPoE. My router is TP-LINK TL-R860, if that makes any difference.
Although it solves my problem, it doesn't explain why my connections always works fine first day and go haywire at second day of uptime. Only way to fix it, was to reboot. After reboot I had a working connection again.
I'd welcome some insight into this issue. Are there any side-effects in setting net.ipv4.tcp_timestamps=0 ?

(I forgot to mention that couple Windows 7 machines are connected to the same router, but I have not noticed this kind of connection problems on them)
