Fonts not displaying properly

#1 Post by pawRoot »

Hi

I have noticed that some fonts/symbols aren't displaying correctly on websites like Instagram, not sure if it's emoticons or other symbols aswell, anyway i have installed package fonts-noto, and they are not displaying correctly aswell, screenshot below

Any idea how to fix?

EDIT:

Also, why fonts-noto package is only 170MB (Deb repository), while it should be around 470MB?

Yep, by the way I am using Infinality for fonts rendering, might it be the cause?

No. The reason is that developers keep designing new fonts for hand held devices. It takes Linux time to catch up.

Try installing ttf-ancient-fonts-symbola which might help.

Do you have links to the suspect Web sites so we can see if our setups work. If ours work and yours doesn't we might be able to compare installed components.
