I recently migrated from Ubuntu to Debian. I really like how indicator-cpufreq works and installed it in Debian 8.7 64bits using Cinnamon desktop following instruction from viewtopic.php?t=113449
Installation (apparently) worked; if I call 'indicator-cpufreq' either in a terminal or just using alt+f2, the applet icon appears in the system tray and works as expected. Then, two issues have been in place:
(1) Applet icon is *only* shown in the tray if I call it using one of the methods mentioned above although it is set to load at startup.
(2) Applet icon is shown having a weird red (purple?) box around it.
How can I set to properly indicator-cpufreq load (and show up) at the tray at startup without this weird contour?
