Dpkg Problem...

#1 Post by TeknosQuet »

When I do something in the Debian Terminal, this shows:
E: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (11: Resource temporarily unavailable)
E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), is another process using it?
I do not know what is causing this to happen. :?
Note: Sorry if this is in the wrong thread, I didn't know where else to put this...
OS: Debian 8.7 Jessie
RAM: 3.0GB
Processor: 2 Cores, 2.00HZ each.

You can only use one packaging app at a time - dpkg, apt, aptitude, synaptic. gdebi etc.

Close all of the applications you have open. Open the Terminal and try again.

Thanks so much, arochester. At least this is easier than fixing this on Ubuntu. I like this OS already!
