Xtreamer sidewinder 4.

#1 Post by mindflow »

I dont know if I post in the right forum section. Should it be wrong then admin may move it.

I have an Xtreamer sidewinder 4, right now it running android, but I want to test linux on it, anyone in here who has experience of this? I'm looking for a guide on how to do it, have been using googe without any luck, the only thing I found is that some have used OpenELEC. Does not find any online guide about this either.

you mean something like this? I doubt you can install debian on it. though i have heard of people installing linux on a dead badger.

seriously, give us some information about what you're talking about, we might be able to help.

generally speaking, if one can install linux on a dead badger, one can install linux on anything.

I know peope can run linux on Sidewinder 4, i have seen them been sold with some kind of Linux installed (ELEC or OpenELEC). And I hoped a forum with linux people would be the right place to ask.
I need to upgrade it since android in it is too old, and many programs require a higher version to be able to update. The main program is Exodus which I cant upgrade anymore.

I provide a link to the sidewinder specs.

I found this site http://releases.openelec.tv/OpenELEC-Ge ... mirrorlist , I dont know if i can use that. Only way to know is to try it i guess. Or if it's possible to use debian for the system, then that would be great.
