Just as an addition to this, it was unproblematic for me in Jessie but didn't work properly in Stretch, some fonts did not show up as options in Libre Office [e.g. Times New Roman wasn't there]. If it gives you problems uninstall and reinstall through Synaptic, that worked for me.

It's also in the contrib packages section, which is not enabled in Debian by default.

It's not available...

Code: Select all

davek@debian:~$ su
Password:
root@debian:/home/davek# apt-get install ttf-mscorefonts-installer
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Package ttf-mscorefonts-installer is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source

E: Package 'ttf-mscorefonts-installer' has no installation candidate
root@debian:/home/davek#
I'm running Debian 9 testing.

It is available: https://packages.debian.org/search?keyw ... ection=all

You don't have the contrib section enabled, per my first post.
