Upgrade to Stretch: how to avoid migration to MariaDB

Hello,

I'm using jessie with MySQL and would like to upgrade to stretch and *stay* with MySQL,
I want avoid the migration to mariadb.
Is it possible? Should I consider some special steps to avoid automatical migration to mariadb?

Why not just stay with Jessie for the time being? Stretch is a bit UNstable right now anyway

The link you show, seems to explain quite clearly what you need to do.
If it is important to that you keep using Mysql, then do not use the Debian repos, you will need to use the mysql repos. Be careful not to pull in anything from the Debian repos, that is for MariaDB.

MariaDB is pretty much drop in replacement for MySQL, same author.
