[PROBLEM WENT AWAY] Zero-Length Files Ending In Semi

#1 Post by Caitlin »

Hi Folks,

I've noticed a LOT of extra files being created -- these duplicate the names of ordinary files I made, but they have a semicolon appended. For example, I have Cars.txt and Cash.txt and Caveman.txt, but Cars.txt; and Cash.txt; and Caveman.txt; suddenly showed up too. These "semicolon" files are all zero-length, and there are a lot more too (and not just .txt files).

I've been doing a lot of TOUCHing to reset the modified date so my backup software will work correctly.

I've been deleting these as I find them but there are a LOT.

I'm using Stretch (with Xfe to list the files).

A search on Google and in this forum has turned up nothing.

Any ideas?

Caitlin

This problem has gone away.

It may have been a bug in a shell script I wrote or something like that.
