Debian Buster 64 bit+KDE, freeze after update

#1 Post by GabrieleMax »

Hello guys!

I did a

Code: Select all

# aptitude update

and a

Code: Select all

# aptitude safe-upgrade
I remember I read something like Vesa update roughly 50 Mb.

I did a restart and... now I can boot the system, I can load grub2 boot loader but after some lines I have a black screen, and I can't open console by ctrl+alt+Fx I have something like a freeze and I must power off the system by the power button :(

I can use the rescue mode and it load a console.

What can I do to fix this issue?

I did:

Code: Select all

# aptitude purge xserver-xorg sddm
I did a reboot and finally I saw the console, I tried to re-install xserver-xorg and sddm but I had same issue!

I think I must remove the entire system and I should do a zero install... :(

Regards.

I suggest you install Debian Stable (Stretch).
