Bug in Chromium

Can anyone please help with the following problem ?
Is there a work around ?

No response when clicking to get a drop down menu on various websites.

System : Jessie
Chromium : 57.0.2987.98 amd64

An example to see if this is replicated?

I wouldn't use Chromium in Jessie as it is currently not supported.

As of today; The current version of Chromium in Stretch is 62.0.3202.89-1~deb9u1.
There is only one Debian | Do not break Debian | Stability and Debian | Backports

For jessie switch to firefox-esr, that is being kept up-to-date in line with stable.

In fact, for that package jessie is ahead of buster at the moment (as is wheezy):
