Clearsigned file isn't valid, got 'NODATA'

#1 Post by helmut.fedder »

Dear Forum Members,

I am trying to update my NAS, which is a straight forward Jessie. However

sudo apt-get update

gives me

Get:1 http://ftp.debian.org jessie InRelease
Ign http://ftp.debian.org jessie InReleasep /var/lib/apt/lists/partial/ftp.debian.org_debian_dists_jessie_InRelease into data and signature failed
E: GPG error: http://ftp.debian.org jessie InRelease: Clearsigned file isn't valid, got 'NODATA' (does the network require authentication?)

I tried various suggested solutions, such as

$ cd /var/lib/apt
$ sudo mv lists lists.old
$ sudo mkdir -p lists/partial
$ sudo apt-get update

from here

https://askubuntu.com/questions/474549/ ... entication

Other sources suggested that it might be a proxy issue or parental control in a fritz box. Both should not apply in my case.

Thank you for your help!

Cheers, Helmut
