Delayed pasting in terminal
Delayed pasting in terminal
Some while ago I moved up to 9.2.0 and then to 9.3.0. I often paste commands in the terminal copied either from my records or from the Internet. Anything I paste in the terminal (and only there) takes a long while -- up to a full minute -- to appear. Why is this?

Re: Delayed pasting in terminal
Let me try to guess, Gnome DE and terminal. ...Or maybe OpenBox,and Gnome terminal, or , XFCE with xfce4-terminal, on OpenBox,with Xfce4-terminal I do not have this problem. Maybe it is Xterm,... hmm, or is it Eterm ?
Maybe one of the commands you copy/pasted from the internet is doing some
things like, sending everything you paste into the terminal somewhere, and waiting for you to paste in some passwords, and other sensitive info,... the more I try to guess , the wilder the ideas get,... I would simply try using a different DE or WM, and different terminal, see if something else worked better. Have fun taking guesses at which ones might work better.

Re: Delayed pasting in terminal
Copy and paste sometimes with CLT-C and CLT-V, sometimes using the Edit menu's options.

Re: Delayed pasting in terminal [solved, sort of]
Things speeded up after I removed the XFCE Terminal, which I had used without trouble for years, and began using the GNOME one.
