pawRoot wrote:I made a .xinitrc file, added this:
Code: Select all
xrdb -merge ~/.Xresources

(^only this line inside)

and i can't "startx" with it.

That's because ~/.xinitrc needs to have all programs listed in it, including the window manager ;)

At the moment your ~/.xinitrc just applies the .Xresources file and then shuts down the X server.

If you add "exec openbox-session" after that line then ~/.config/openbox/autostart and a selection of files from /etc/xdg/autostart will be run.

If you add "exec openbox" after the xrdb line then ~/.config/openbox/autostart & /etc/xdg/autostart will be ignored and a bare openbox desktop will start.

I think you need the 256 colour version:

https://packages.debian.org/stretch/rxv ... e-256color

Did you set the opacity percentage via URxvt.background?

Here's our example (set to 85% opacity):

xterm itself doesn't have transparency settings, but with a window manager like kwin_X11 it works fine. You can either set this in the window rules for kde systemsettings, or assign it to something like alt mousewheel, that's what i like.
