Stretch: xsane libgphoto2_port.so.10

If none of the more specific forums is the right place to ask

Stretch: xsane libgphoto2_port.so.10

Postby min0me » 2018-01-27 16:47

Hi,

I am trying to use xsane 0.999-5 on Stretch. Its from the repository. Whenever i try to run it, i get the following error:

xsane: error while loading shared libraries: libgphoto2_port.so.10: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

The shared library is not installed, only the current version of 12 (libgphoto2_port.so.12) which i believe ships with Stretch.
Simple-scan also is giving the same error...

Same error as above.

Code: Select all
user@plum:~$ xsane --version
xsane: error while loading shared libraries: libgphoto2_port.so.10: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

But its 0.999-5 as per default in Stretch

It works fine for me on 64-bit. I suggest you clean the .deb out of your apt cache and reinstall from the repo, or directly download and install the Stretch deb from packages.debian.org to see it that clears up the problem. My ldd results differ quite a bit from yours.

And of course, since these problems are almost always caused by insane sources, let's see the results of
Code: Select all
cat /etc/apt/sources.list
in a code box this time, please.
The MX Linux repositories: Backports galore! If we don't have something, just ask and we'll try--we like challenges. New packages: GIMP 2.10.6, Pale Moon 28.0.1, wine-staging 3.15, qBittorrent 4.1.2, Linux kernel 4.18.6, virtualbox 5.2.18

Well,
Code: Select all
apt policy xsane

could be enlightening, then.
