Debian Wheezy amd64 - mount.cifs (112) Host Is Down problem

#1 Post by dfatdf »

Hi.

I have a script that mounts a share on Windows Sever 20008. Work great for years, but now I wanted to disable SMB1 on the server, disabled it and enabled SMB2. All my windows devices were updated and they all connect fine. I can also boot and use mount.cifs with vers=2.0 and mount shares on some systems with a live type boot disk. But this main system with Debian Wheezy amd64 will not connect to the share.

mount.cifs //192.168.1.4/Xfer /mnt -o vers=2.0,credentials=/path/file
mount error(112) Host is down

I even edited the /etc/samba/smb.conf file [global] section to contain
client min protocol = SMB2
client max protocol = SMB3

rebooted, still nothing.

So I'm stuck, how do I get it to mount the SMB2 share? I know if I go back to enabling SMB1 on the server it will work. I'd presume SMB2 is available in Wheezy?
