Both sed and gawk are powerful tools to process text, I don't see what value would any gui-version provide.

I tried to answer using best of my knowledge.

To learn programing: practice, practice more, read, practice, practice, practice, view examples, practice, read more, practice, practice. Start again from start.

Gui-versions are not shortcuts, and in some cases make things harder.
