How good is linux for recovering HFS+ disk

#1 Post by funkytwig »

Hi, I have a HFS+ disk that I can't read on my mac, not even in read-only. Was wondering if it was worth trying to recover the data using Linux tools. Hoping for a tempered objective answer;). Or is it best to look for Mac tools?

I use Linux where I can but nothing anywhere near FCPX in terms of productivity in video editing, which is why I use MacOS. just saying;).

you can mount hfs+ read only

so that raises the prospect of being able to access your disk from debian. of course that does not necessarily mean you'll be able to access the data
