Postby dwarff3 » 2019-07-25 06:43

Hi, I am using sid since over half a year. Almost no problems with it, apart fact last days when I want to perform standard
Code: Select all
apt update && apt upgrade && apt full-upgrade

It wants to remove many packages from system. Can anyone help me debug what can cause such situation, and try to provide any solution?
apt output:
Code: Select all
root@dwrf:/home/dwarff# apt update && apt upgrade && apt full-upgrade

Aptitude shows you not only all conflicts between packages' dependencies, but it offers you several solutions for their resolving...

SID is probably still in development. Your mixed SID is for sure in full development.

Code: Select all

http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb stable Release

If you are scared by these aptitude messages, SID is probably not for you.

You started using Debian unstable during the package freeze that precedes a new stable release but you are now experiencing the flood of updates that occurs after the release.

Pro tip: use stable instead. See also viewtopic.php?f=12&t=134762&p=655783

Testing can be less usable than sid because of the transition delay. And it is the worst in respect of security.

True I can confirm time correlation with new stable release. Stable is fine, but SID is better ;) . I'll try with aptitude today and try to resolve issue. I'll keep you up-to-date with my prod-dev like notebook environment :D

I always uninstall that piece of crap. :D However, I have only seen it download packages but never install on its own.
Pet peeve : apt is locked because unattended-upgrades is working in the background.

Yes, good point.

The GNOME desktop also uses gnome-software to download updates automatically, which is annoying.
