Coming from Debian 8 & 9... what new packages in 10?

I'm just a basic desktop user. Any new software I should try in Buster? Maybe jpeg viewer/editor (basics, like crop)? wallpaper manager? Browser? Tray applets?
I use XFCE.

I'm just looking for new programs you've found handy.

XFCE's the same version as in Stretch. I use Variety in XFCE myself to manage wallpapers and to pull in new ones.

You can try a backport of XFCE 4.14 I did in a repo, but there's no revolutionary changes. They tried to have it behave the same as 4.12, but did a lot of changes under the hood to switch it to GTK+ 3. I did read that XFCE 4.16 is due in six months or so.
The MX Linux repositories: Backports galore! If we don't have something, just ask and we'll try--we like challenges. New packages: Clipgrab 3.8.6, Hedgewars 1.0.0, PulseEffects 4.6.8, Telegram-desktop 1.8.15, Pale Moon 28.7.2, KeepassXC 2.5.1

Thanks, I'll check that out. I'm using Desktopnova on my Jessie machine.
