I get this message when opening Software app:
failed to download updates from extensions.gnome.org and odrs.gnome.org
https://extensions.gnome.org//static/extensions.json
cannot resolve hostname
Why does this happen and how do I correct this problem?
Running Debian 10 Gnome
Thanks

Re: Failed to download gnome extensions error
Thank you, but I don't see what that has to do with the question. I don't see that message coming up today when checking Software. It could have corrected itself.Head_on_a_Stick wrote:Check the output ofAnd read the man page to find out how to use it.Code: Select all

Re: Failed to download gnome extensions error
There are security issues with some gnome extensions that you will have to override in order to install non-debian software.
Some of the more popular extensions have been reviewed for security and made into debian packages. For example:
https://packages.debian.org/sid/gnome-s ... dashtodock
You can search the link above for other extensions. Installing debian packages is an easier, safer route if it is available in the debian repositories.

Re: Failed to download gnome extensions error
Thanks, I haven't installed any gnome extensions except for the ones that came with gnome tweaks. Only two I use are Applications and Places on the top bar.
