Trying to Install Steam - unmet dependencies?

So I've been trying to install steam via linux on my dell inspiron chromebook. I have used sudo apt update and sudo apt upgrade, but nothing pops up as needing updated and when I go to enter sudo apt install steam I am met with -

The following packages have unmet dependencies: steam:i386 : Depends: libgl1-mesa-dri:i386 but it is not going to be installed. Depends: libgl1-mesa-glx:i386 but it is not going to be installed. E: Unable to correct problems, you have broken packages.

Is there anyway to fix this problem?

I am using this version of Linux as well -

PRETTY_NAME="Debian GNU/Linux 10 (buster)" NAME="Debian GNU/Linux" VERSION_ID="10" VERSION_CODENAME=buster ID-debian

And typing in hostnamectl gives me:

Static hostname: penguin Operating System: Debian GNU/Linux 10 (buster) Kernel: Linux 4.19.86-07780-g3c6544b539b7 Architecture: x86-64

deb https://deb.debian.org/debian buster main
deb https://deb.debian.org/debian-security buster/updates main

/etc/apt/sources.list.d/cros.list
deb https://storage.googleapis.com/cros-packages/80 buster main

Thank you for the helpful info! Unfortunately, reading this has me incredibly confused. xD I am super new to Linux and coding in general and as such I assume I am supposed to bypass and download the missing packages but am unsure of how to do so?

Can you simply try this to see:

apt install steam

+ show this

Yes man, but these are root commands (may I say, of course).

+ why steam from jessie ?
What are you doing with jessie repository ?

^ I had no idea what I was or am doing haha. I looked up how to install steam and followed a video. If there is an easier way to get steam I am all for it. I just am unsure of what commands to use to get the other versions.

Your /etc/apt/sources.list is not correct
Try with this only

deb https://deb.debian.org/debian buster main contrib non-free
deb https://deb.debian.org/debian-security buster/updates main

as root,

apt update
apt policy steam
apt install steam

and reinvestigate.

Nope XD I have tried to follow instructions with the best of my knowledge but I am severely lacking. I apologize and super appreciate your patience with me!
