I want to setup a simple email server.
Just one domain, no email boxes, mailman and mail forwaring via aliases.

I started with: ... ver-ubuntu

All DNS checks are OK

When sendig a email as test
echo "test email" | sendmail
The sender is showed as

But when using the mail command to send out an email the sender is showed as

What needs to ajust to show the domain name and not the FQDN when sending from the comandline?

Code: Select all
email the sender is showed as
can get answer to this as well, it is a common problem , or read the documentation for Debian, EG:

That tutorial looks like it is for ubuntu, and certain specific hosting site, I did not look at much, but you will be better off using documentation specific to Debian.
