Getting latest libgphoto on Debian stable.

Postby rupertlssmith » 2020-11-30 15:37

I tried to pull in a more recent version from Debian testing packages. Unfortunately this wants to also pull a later libc6 from testing, and I have a feeling that is not going to be a good idea?

I need a more recent libgphoto as the version on Debian stable, does not seem to support the Canon EOS R camera so well.

Can I build the libgphoto package myself, on my system using the version of libc6, is that likely to work?

No, it would not be a good idea. Read https://wiki.debian.org/DontBreakDebian

That was simple enough to follow, and now my camera works! Thank you.
