Hey everyone! I recently had an idea that I wanted to try to figure out if I could use a live stream zoo as my wallpaper. I figured you could do this with VLC Player and then set the video as wallpaper. Didn't turn out the way I had expected obviously. Even whenever I tried adding a regular video as a wallpaper to test it, it wasn't exactly a wallpaper, more so a full screen. Does anyone know if this is possible? I just think this would be really cool to have on a family computer of a live steamed Zoo of penguins or a lion exhibit as the wallpaper.
Here is a website I was going to use to test this:
Lions: https://www.edinburghzoo.org.uk/webcams/lion-cam/#lioncam
Penguins: https://www.edinburghzoo.org.uk/webcams/penguin-cam/#penguincam
Although the quality isn't that great it's a start. Probably better ones out there.
I've tried attaching the url's to vlc by inspecting the element but with no luck.
---Searches bring up Windows programs that kinda do this, but not only are the programs kinda fishy looking they aren't live live. Another guy had an idea like this to and I'm not sure if he was able to figure it out either, didn't looked solved. He mentioned traffic cams which would be awesome as well. Just wanted to know if anyone has figured this out yet, that would be an awesome touch to Linux if you ask me.
