DNS over TLS with host/nslookup/dig?

If none of the more specific forums is the right place to ask

DNS over TLS with host/nslookup/dig?

Postby dwasi » 2021-01-29 19:55

Is it possible to directly specify a DNS-over-TLS upstream server when using host, nslookup, or dig? (As opposed to proxying to the DNS-over-TLS server with something like stubby?)

Not that I know.

You can use kdig (package: knot-dnsutils), which supports TCP (+tcp), TLS (+tls) and even DNS over HTTP (+https=URL).
