Thanks for the driver install info, presumably exactly the method shown on that Mint forum page. You forgot to say what the Github URL is. So I'll copy the instructions here for future reference:
Code: Select all
sudo apt update
sudo apt install build-essential git dkms
git clone https://github.com/brektrou/rtl8821CU.git
cd rtl8821CU
chmod +x dkms-install.sh
sudo ./dkms-install.sh
sudo modprobe 8821cu

Sudo is not actually needed in Debian, admin privileges can be achieved usually with "su -" (or "su -c" for a single command), but I guess it's easier to have sudo when copying commands written for *buntu-based distros like Mint.

Is there any way to create a .deb package of this compiled driver using dkms ?
For example, I had to reinstall Debian 10 Burst and consequently had to recompile the wifi usb driver in question with dkms, according to what has been written.
Is there a way to avoid this procedure, once you have compiled the sources and obtained the rtl8821cu.ko module ?
