How to get proper dependencies for wordpress on Testing?

#1 Post by VA1DER »

I am trying to install the wordpress package on Debian Testing to check out how it is doing directory permissions. I already have lighttpd installed. Wordpress has a dependency on "apache2 or httpd". As I understand it, httpd is a virtual package that is provided by 12 different http server packages, and lighttpd is one of them. So, if you have any of those web servers installed, apt is supposed to do nothing, and if you don't have any of them installed, apache2 will be tagged and installed along with it.

My issue is that lighttpd is not satisfying that dependency and apt is insisting on installing apache2 along with wordpress. I really don't want this. There is a bug in the dependencies somewhere, and I've already submitted a bug report. Is there any way in the mean time to get wordpress installed without installing apache2 with it?
