CUPS (crappy unuseable printing scrap)

#1 Post by Glanz »

Ever been ready to burn your geek credentials because of difficulties getting up CUPS, "The Common Unix Printing System"? Well don't feel bad. You are not alone. One of the best and first hackers in the world has had the same difficulties.

and here is a follow-up

After all the publicity that ESR got because of his initial article and the numerous positive reactions everywhere, I feel almost like a traitor because I have never had a problem configuring CUPS. I have used it on Mandrake, Gentoo, RedHat, and Debian and have never realy had a problem. I always start by deleting faulty defaults and going on from there.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one that has problems with CUPS.
When even linux/unix guru's don't get the job done the first time the try, I don't feel ashame anymore.

There still is hope
