If you need the source check
http://www.mplayerhq.hu and click on download.
Just google mplayer --check out at least the first two pages. Page 1 links you to a brand new article on mplayer at linux.com.

To install the Debian package for mplayer.
You can edit /etc.apt/sources.lst and add this line (if you are using sarge)

deb ftp://ftp.nerim.net/debian-marillat/ sarge main

After that,
# apt-get update
# apt-get install mplayer

O.K. I woke up a few minutes after the last post. I should have just used # apt-get install mplayer-386. It came up fine! Thanks again Dawgie. I had to put in cd #3 and later cd #1.
(Media Change: Please insert the disc labelled
'Debian GNU/Linux 3.1 r0a _Sarge_ - Official i386 Binary-3 (20050607)'
in the drive '/cdrom/' and press enter)
Maybe "Guest" could borrow a cd set. Could he get them off the net? You only need 3 and 1 to do this.
