apt-get question

Postby greenmeanie » 2006-01-18 16:36

Is there a way to fix this error?

Get: 5 ftp://ftp.nerim.net stable Release
Ignftp://ftp.us.debian.org stable/main Packages
99% [Sources bzip2 0] [Query] [5 Release 0]
bzip2: Compressed file ends unexpectedly;
perhaps it is corrupted? *Possible* reason follows.
bzip2: Inappropriate ioctl for device
Input file = (stdin), output file = (stdout)

It is possible that the compressed file(s) have become corrupted.
You can use the -tvv option to test integrity of such files.

You can use the `bzip2recover' program to attempt to recover
data from undamaged sections of corrupted files.

Errftp://ftp.us.debian.org stable/main Sources
Sub-process bzip2 returned an error code (2)
Hit ftp://ftp.us.debian.org etch/main Packages
Hit ftp://ftp.us.debian.org etch/contrib Packages

Also is anyone else having problems lately apt-gettting nerims site?

It seems that the repository is not the correct one.
Please paste the contents of your repositories sources file here so that I can verify it.

# mplayer ETC ETC
deb ftp://ftp.nerim.net/debian-marillat/ stable main

Change the above, from stable to sarge, and try again.

Errftp://ftp.us.debian.org stable/main Sources

It looks to me like the problem is with the Debian site.
Try changing
deb-src ftp://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ stable main
to
deb ftp://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ stable main contrib non-free
