Debian 64 = What Kernel

#1 Post by Carlosinfl »

I just installed "Etch" or "testing" but the 64 bit version and it comes with a generic AMD64 kernel. What should I install to replace this with? I am sure that there is a better kernel available however my APT update or upgrade did not find one.

Any suggestions?

A generic amd64 kernel should be fine, personally, I think often optimised kernels are overrated.

I see an option for a K8...is that something that would be better?

Maybe. Try it. If you don't notice the difference, why bother :)?
