1) Keyboard doesnt work in Gnome.
2) apt-get is now giving errors.
Long story(short version at end)

Proving that no good deed goes unpunished, I let my friend borrow my debian box and I dropped it bringing it back in my house. The tab for the CPU fan broke off. $40 and a new motherboard later, I appeared to be back in action.
This is a dual boot box. XP and debian that boots into Gnome.
A few drivers later XP was up and running like a champ.
Now to cross fingers and hope the same for Debian.
When I booted up, gnome wouldnt respond to the keyboard. I sshd in to the box and shut down gdm and the keyboard worked. So I tried doing a pkg reconfigure on xfree and that didnt help. Even though the physical connectors are the same to the keyboard, I figured the new motherboard was showing something diffferent.
So I decided instead of bumping heads with google and my lack of knowledge, I'd try to install KDE and maybe that would solve my problem. So I apt-get install kde and i get this weird error popping up every time.

I ran fschk and no errors.

So, the small problem now is how do I get my keyboard to work in gnome with my new motherboard.
the big problem is did my HD get damaged or is that a new motherboard issue too? Everything seems to be fine until I run any apt-get. windows partition didnt find any errors either.
