magic cookie --stops X sesseion

over the past few days I have had problems logging into X session.

here is X error
seems to be something to do ICEauthority file which reads
XSMP !unix/xstation/tmp/ .ICE-unix/7123 MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 then some symblos I cannot read I must delete this file everytime on reboot

any suggestions

Try this:

sudo chown yourusername ~/.ICEAuthority
sudo chmod 777 ./.ICEAuthority

... or just delete ~/.ICEAuthority. And while you're at it, all mcop and k* files in /tmp and /var/tmp. Do this while not running K. (or Gnome, etc)

They'll be automatically recreated.
