Open Office

#1 Post by Ken Ryder »

Hi,
I'm trying to use Open Office 2 to open document files off a Windows network. When I type the following: "smb://domain" I get an error, "Nonexistent Object Nonexistent File". Is it possible for Open Office 2 to automatically open document files off a network or do I have to do it manually by browsing to my network location grabbing the document off the network and placing it on my desktop?

Thanks,
Ken

I like to use the application LinNeighborhood. You can mount a Windows share in your home directory with it. Then just open /home/<yourname>/mnt/<windows_share>/document.ods and there's no need for smb:// anymore.
