How to remove debian

#1 Post by Nish »

Dear all,

I am a total new bee to Debian. What I would like to know is: How can I completely remove Debian from my system? I mean, I would like to start from the scratch again from partitioning my hard disk and stuff.
Thanks in advance.

Just start a fresh install of whatever OS you want to install should do it... or use a liveCD like Knopix and repartition your drive if you're not going to install a new OS.

1. Backup everything important (obviously)
2. Get a CD to do partitioning, e.g. GParted
3. Use that to delete the Debian partitions
4. You will need to install a boot loader, how to do that depends on what you want to do afterwards.
