kernel help

Postby twiggymoo » 2006-05-21 23:25

Hello,
I downloaded linux-2.6.16.16.tar.bz2
I did all tha actions but when I got to make-kpkg kernel_image it did a lot of scrolling and ended with error.
I looked for some directory in the /usr/src called kernel-image....i386.deb and didn't find it - there was no new directory created except for the linux-2.6.16.16 directory after unpacking.

Help please!

Thanks,
Twiggymoo

Hi,

The "kernel-image....i386.deb" is not a directory but the actual kernel package created from make-kpkg. Could you be more spesific on what you did and what the error message was?
