How do I mute my modem???

Postby twiggymoo » 2006-06-07 23:51

I did the pppconfig thing and can now access the web. The modem noise is annoying. I tried to get KPPP working but couldn't figure it out with the script thing - I could mute the modem there but couldn't connect.
Thanks,

Check this site: http://www.modemhelp.net/. Looking at basic commands http://www.modemhelp.net/basicatcommand.shtml#L I see these:
Ln - "Set Speaker Volume" - This command controls the speaker volume of the modem.

L0 - Mute

L1 - Low volume

L2 - Medium volume

L3 - High volume

Hope this helps.

Bulkley,
Thanks for this info. Where do I enter these commands?

In pppconfig --> advanced options --> Modeminit

Change the "ATZ" to "ATM0L0"
