2 problems: Nvidia & cpuinfo

Postby GuTe » 2006-07-16 17:45

Hi all

Just moved over to Debian Sarge and would like to know how I get a Nvidia TNT card to work. I've tried shutdown X in order to install the drivers, but i just comes back to the X login screen.

Also, if I would like to know if my 2 pIII processors are work, isnt it /proc/cpuinfo that I should write?

ctrl-alt-f1, log in as root and type,

/etc/init.d/[xkgw]dm stop

install the nvidia drivers, note if it's a tnt1 card, nvidia stopped supporting that a while ago, so you'll have to go back in the archives and find an older driver version for that card
