Re: confuselings purple power
I like purple. And I have enjoyed wielding it mercilessly. I will water them whether they like it or not - it's a bit like corsned: if they squeal they're human, if they fizzle they're a bot...
Good to be able to help out.

Re: New Admins, Mods and SpamHunters
Thank you, both on the welcomes,
I will be trying to my best, I have noticed, it really does help when people report anything they
think is spam, that makes it a lot easier then trying to look at every single new post.

Re: New Admins, Mods and SpamHunters
Well thanks V&N,
I will try to do a good job, I have some experience on other forums, but they are not near as busy as this one,..just today, a "spambot" snuck in , while I was trying to help answer a question, and typeing my response, fortunately a moderator also was on line, and "nailed it",
"lesson learned", try to make my posts shorter, pay more attention, to the forum activity, and leave the questions/answers to those with more experience, and also online.
anyway thanks on the welcome.

Take your time to write your posts and don't feel like you have to "nail" spam on the spot.
We are not going to reply or click links on spam posts and even if a few of them make it and stay alive while you write your posts or drink your coffee, nothing bad will happen.
The important thing is to remove spam and keep the board uncluttered, not to remove it the instant it is posted.
This is of course only my personal opinion, but I am confident many will agree with me.
Bye and thanks.
Re: New Admins, Mods and SpamHunters
I totally agree with mor.
You were a helper on this forum first, became spam hunter later, and the role was trusted to you because of your contributions as a helper (well, your previous experience also counts, but credibility comes from your interaction on the forums as a helper). So while your new role definitely demands a little more from you, if it hinders your contribution as a helper in any way, I'd consider it an overall loss to the forums.
I have a very little experience of moderation on forums, and I was doing just fine. But as soon as I started feeling that it was restricting my ability to help freely, I stepped down. What use is a perfectly moderated forum if there are no good helpers on it?
