Welcome Back! (again)
Re: Welcome Back! (again)
Howdy all,
Yes, i'll echo that. Good to have it all sorted. Damn the spamers
For what it's worth, i like the layout better than the previous too. Especially the saner sized posing box (grin). I'm even viewing this in 'author' mode too .
Just one thing though. When i brought up a listing of my last 3 months worth of posts -=- there wasn't any indication as to if there had been any 'new posts'. That is , no icon. I'll recheck that as it may just be hidden away in the new style somewhere. If so, please ignore my comment.
Cheers ...

Re: Welcome Back! (again)
Thanks again for getting the forum up and running. I've put a curse on the spammer scum, so by now his urethra will have closed up completely. That'll learn him.

Pretty!
Nice to be back. I think I was going through withdrawal symptoms:)

Re: Welcome Back! (again)
I certainly was in withdrawal. It was so bad, I subscribed to about ten debian lists. Now I have 169 unopened emails in my box.bugsbunny wrote:Pretty!

Well, atleast it's phpbb3. I was wondering why you were still using phpbb2, considering how old it is.
Now we won't see too much of that spam either?
Though, the most annying thing with the default phpbb3-theme is that the username and avatars and such is on the right side of the posts. It just feels unnatural.

Yeah, tis a bit weird. Plus the ''Joined'' part now states the full date and even the exact time someone joined the forums - which is too long and detailed IMO.Kats wrote: Though, the most annying thing with the default phpbb3-theme is that the username and avatars and such is on the right side of the posts. Re: Welcome Back! (again)
I've tried many distro's over the years (and still mess around with many), but just installed Debian Lenny recently (had Ubuntu installed on my work laptop, but I've just changed over to Debian), then a couple of days after installing Debian the forums went down. I already had a few things fixed (iwlwifi-3945ABG) from the forums. So, being quite new I was still sad to see them go down...but they are back again Thanks

Re: Welcome Back! (again)
I'm glad the forums are back online and that we have a fresh layout.
Personally, I don't mind that the post content is on the left side. To me, the post content being on the left side catches my eye faster and allows for easier reading (due to my monitor being off to my right I'm focused more towards the left side of my screen).
Once again, glad the forums are back and thanks to all those involved for making this possible.

Re: Welcome Back! (again)
Like most here, once I discovered that the forums were down, I promptly proceeded to assume the fetal position and rocking while hiding under my desk! Once I got past that, I advanced to the frantically withdrawal type behavior of seaching for any and all evidence of the return of the forum ...hoping it would only be moments. Finally I arrived at the finding a hard drive I could use to install a fresh copy of debian to keep me busy and my mind off the tragady....
I am so happy to see the forums up, and wish to express my heart felt gratitude to all involved in it's repair. THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH!!

Re: Welcome Back! (again)
Great to be back! This forum is important. And it's looking even better than before.
Once you figure out what exactly happened, we'd be glad to hear about it.
Go Debian!

Re: Welcome Back! (again)
It is a great relieve that the forum returned, however, as I said earlier, something must be done to allow all those who do not enjoy a good eyesight, to be able to comfortably use the forum. The colour scheme used, is made of the shades of the same colour, and this is not helping in demarching clearly the different parts of the forum. Moreover, the chosen colour is almost white greatly increasing eye stress and fatigue. Note that a white background and any shade appromixating white, is far from ideal as a background.
Please provide an alternative.
Thanks.
