Rejected like a rotten orange...

Rejected like a rotten orange... :(

When I first started to use this forum, I read the rules, and if my memory serves me right, I was instructed not to use private messages very often. So, I resorted to write my complaints in my posts. Is that rude for most of you?

I have been humiliated to the extent of not being considered suitable to a sweeping and dusting task.... and that really hurts. ana already has loads of responsability and she is giving quite a lot... I wanted to do the same thing on a much humbler scale, and I was rejected like someone not worthy of taking the least of all responsabilities! I am starting to ask:

What is wrong with me.....? Sorry, but I cannot understand...

Speaking for my own situation, in no way do I feel "rejected"; quite the opposite. I specifically offered to assist in squelching spam but on the condition that I'd not have to perform any moderating of discussions.

Edit: At the time I posted this, I was under the mistaken impression that Ed was upset over not being made a full-fledged moderator, rather than a mere "spamhunter".

Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it. -- Brian Kernighan

Just don't worry about it, probably several other people offered their help and didn't make the list, no big deal.

Keep contributing and sharing and learning...and taking an occasional knock.

Now it's time for my battle!

Edit:

Post moved to General Discussion. Please, don't post here. The subject of the post was relating to a deleted thread.

As this is not the right section, I am posting the original in General Discussion.

mhh,
i for one think that its -at minimum- "odd", that the thread has been "deleted" (edit:
without further explanation)
till today i have only experienced that threads by regular members have been locked.
i think that was clear.

That you are willing to share private correspondence with anyone who cares to ask for it is not impressive.

This (even more than the other aspects of your reaction) is probably an indication that the administrators and moderators made a reasonable judgement when declining to give you added responsibility and trust.

The list of spambusters looks good. Only 1 wiseass was included.

:D

As usual I was exaggerating, but with the kindest of motives.....to make gnudude feel better, that he isn't the only wiseass on the spamkiller team. He is, and there's no contest....and he knows it
