As at least some of the new man in red post regularly
a less aggressive color wouldn't hurt.
Iow words: Yes, i too see a sea of red.
Or is there any place on earth where red doesn't mean "big danger"?

Re: No more 'greens'!
Yes. China. There, red is, for lack of a better term, a "religious" colour. To give only a few examples: Lanterns and the background for written messages, both used during festivals and holidays; wedding clothes; sedan chair covers. Red has always been associated with happiness and things official.nadir wrote:Or is there any place on earth where red doesn't mean "big danger"?
(Although I understand what you meant. )

I suggest considering vbrummond and dilberts_left_nut. If they are interested, I am sure they would be fine moderators.4D696B65 wrote:new greens will be coming shortly.

I think vbrummond would have to go purple first.Randicus wrote:I suggest considering vbrummond and dilberts_left_nut. If they are interested, I am sure they would be fine moderators.

Opinions will differ of course, but my opinion on the issue is that appointment to moderator should be based more on character than on rising through the "ranks". Things like activity level, communication skills, commitment to the board, and perhaps knowledge level, although it is not essential. In other words; How well will a person do the job?; rather than, What positions has the person held in the past.

Then there's been lots of red in Rome recently. Another gaggle of red groupies.4D696B65 wrote:Don't forget Rudolph's red nose, it lights the way for Santa.

Your opinion is not without merit, however, there are logistical reasons that favor a more incremental approach to elevation of duties within the Staff. At each level of administration -- Spamhunter, Moderator, and Administrator -- additional powers are granted and increased potential of causing irreparable damage to the contents of the forum is acquired. It is in the best interests of everyone (including the person being deputed) that they have a chance to grow accustomed to the tools available and learn the risks involved. This is especially true with the dramatic redistribution of positions that has recently taken place.Randicus wrote:Opinions will differ of course, but my opinion on the issue is that appointment to moderator should be based more on character than on rising through the "ranks". Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it. -- Brian Kernighan

Sorry, I'm not very good at deciphering crypto riddles. Too much of a literalist, I guess.llivv wrote:Why am I not surprised.golinux wrote:????llivv wrote:enjoy your freedoms ( or lack there of ) while you still have them.
At least the bot spam seems to have subsided as a result of the restructuring which is a good thing. But I do wish the admins could wear a different color especially if they are going to visibly active. Too bright. Hurts my eyes.

Re: No more 'greens'!
Rather indifferent about the staff changes, but I do have one question....
Didn't Craigevil and saulgoode both quit at least once? Why were they made red when the quit?
Oh wait...they must have recanted....I'm pretty sure though Saulgoode has posted within the last 6 months reiterating his resignation (but that he was moderating still, just as little possible)...
Wait, I have one more question...
What about Oswaldkelso....wasn't he a spam hunter? I'm not seeing him anymore...did he quit? I must have missed that.
