Re: How to appropriate attract attention after I improve pos
I suppose just post a reply, in the same topic and thread, advising the readers
some changes were made to the original post, and asking them to review it again.
You could also use the "quote" option, after editing and making the changes.
If you use the "quote" option , that will place the post in quote boxes, and start
a reply to the topic,..In your reply a short note, something like,
The above post has been edited, to improve it,
However, excessively bumping a post, or posting the same things over and over
on different boards will get you in trouble, they will be removed, and could be considered
spam.
Please read this, Forum guidelines. Please read before first post!
------------>>>>>^^Click the above, to see what you need to read.^^<<<<---------
If the post is some kind of advertisement, it will be considered spam and removed,
I do not understand the need to "attract attention", if nobody is answering your
question, please read this: >>>>>Click Below<<<<
Ever wonder why your post isn't getting answered?

Re: How to appropriate attract attention after I improve pos
Well any way, I am glad to see the OP found someone to help translate for them:
http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php? ... 26#p644424
I was going to suggest they do that, but the OP thought of that and did get someone to help,..
So I want to first apologize, to other members for the confusion, and also welcome
the new member:
orythem27
Thank you very much orythem27 for taking the time to help with this and Welcome to the forum, personally my hopes are you keep coming back, you could be of help to others that
are Chinese language , and weak on their English.

Thanks. I sincerely hope that with appropriate "paraphrasing", @lbuiyzxl and other forum members will eventually come up with some insight on the actual issue. And hopefully @lbuiyzxl will aquire more forum netiquette to avoid these kind of misunderstanding.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: How to appropriate attract attention after I improve pos
Well one way to get attention might be to post a image like this:
When one "bumps" a thread.,...but again , don't this to much, it could get you in trouble,
or disturb the guy's "under the bridge"
Any way I thought this was "cute" so decided to share.
Seriously though, if any body edits the first post, or any posts in the thread, it is a
fact that when a post gets edited, it does not show as a new post, or anything.
When a new post is posted, including a reply to a previous post, it shows in the "new posts" list, and if anyone is subscribed to the thread they also receive a notice by e-mail.
So if several days have gone by, and no one responds, it is ok to "bump" a topic,
or also if there is any new information, something was edited, etc. The appropriate
method would be to post a notice about the update, change , or whatever,...especially if the OP finds a solution, it is nice if they let us know, and share the solution as well.

I'm pretty sure that StartPage would appreciate it if you linked to the actual/original image instead of the lxquick/proxied version.

Re: How to appropriate attract attention after I improve pos
Nooooo! Please Garry, no cute pussy images and desperate pleas for help.
Reality is that, other than discussion topics, mainly in the Off Topic area, and threads detailing an interesting procedure, almost every thread is a request for help. On another forum, where I am a Mod, those topic titles get edited to what the thread is really about. Truly, nobody ever searches using the keyword "help".
A bump, to bring the thread back up in New or Active Topics is usually enough, if it notes that additional information has been added. As noted though, should be used with discretion.

I as kidding , or joking.
Thank you.
Yes this is really the only "appropriate" method, when the guidelines are followed.by NFT5 »A bump, to bring the thread back up in New or Active Topics is usually enough, if it notes that additional information has been added. As noted though, should be used with discretion.

Re: How to attract appropriate attention after I improve pos
If you ask the wrong question, of the wrong people, in the wrong place, you might be able to attract attention, but you will probably not get a satisfactory answer.
Much of this long, confused and difficult story seems to be about a metapackage (lxde-core) which does not install a particular package (lxterminal).
We are Debian users. We are not Debian makers. We did not make the metapackage. We did not decide what it should or should not contain.
From Synaptic about lxde-core:

From Synaptic about lxde-core:
I have pointed out that lxterminal can be installed separately. That is my "workaround". But that does not seem to be enough...If you just want to pick and choose the core components then feel free to remove this package.
Re: How to attract appropriate attention after I improve pos
Thank you, your reply very helpful to me,though maybe I have too much curiosity.
Though you can't decide what something about Debian, but maybe can keep curiosity
My curiosity has been appeased
